Apple threw her head upside down, pulling her hair up and into a bun. Strands of hair from her bangs fell out and over her face. She brushed them and then tucked the strands behind her ear. Slipping a navy blue Abercrombie & Fitch tank on, she adjusted the straps. She looked around. Larken or the boys weren't there. Thank god. Reaching into Larken's dresser, she pulled out her white shorts. She slipped them on, pushing her wallet and phone into her back pocket.
She pushed the door open and started down the hallway. Feeling like she forgot something, Apple thought on her way down the steps. She walked out onto the pavement outside the dorms. The soles of her shoes felt funny. Like the concrete. Looking down, Apple realized she wasn’t wearing any shoes. She ran up the stairs and thre navy blue flip-flops on.
Apple walked down the street and headed towards the club. It was about nine at night, but the club was already hopping. I.D., please. Said a rather large man standing in front of Apple she took out her wallet and flashed the fake I.D. in his face, walking by once he moved his arm. My, was that man chubby.
Upon entering the club, Apple noticed a few boys look at her. She moved towards the dance floor and found a pretty cute guy. Can I dance with you?
She asked sweetly. She began to grind against him, without giving him time to answer.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

I see how you like to run Back to the things that got you here lyrics • dare4distance by nevershoutnever! word count • 377 status • done! outfit • here The Technicolor lights blinded the eyes of every teenager in the room, the booming bass from the blasting music made people in a trance, making them move, functioning on their own adrenaline. This was no science-fiction movie – this was Peyton’s hideout. Her territory which she clearly made known to people around in that club; all of them inside knew Pates, even if she didn’t know them. The club was Pates’ after-school activity and she headed down here almost every night. She mingled around with strangers, gulping down alcohol and torturing her lungs with fags – but that was who Peyton was. And some say she was proud about that reputation of hers.
Seated with her right leg over her left on the bar, Peyton didn’t quite mind the ogling eyes that never seemed to escape. She was, after all, the girl that would make everyone’s heads turn, no doubt. With a cigarette in between her pinkish, shimmery lips, Peyton smiled a deceiving, innocent smile as she watched activities going around in the club. From her position on the bar, the girl could see anything she wanted to.
There were a couple of guys, possibly college students, who came up to her once in awhile and Peyton did entertain them a little while. Some were fairly nice, asking her for a dance, others offered her drinks. Peyton particularly hated men who wanted to offer her beverages. Who knew if they were spiked bad and Peyton would lose her head, doing things while her mind stopped functioning.
But what caught Peyton’s attention was a brunette Peyton recognised as a junior from her school. Pates smirked; it was smart of that girl to enter. Fake ID, probably? Peyton didn’t need the use of those IDs since her junior year; the bouncer knew her well enough to close an eye. Peyton eyed that junior – Cherry, her name? No, no, it was Apple – in the distance. She always found it amusing that girls who walked in get to the dancefloor the minute the stepped into the club. Hel-lo? They have forever to do that, didn’t they? Peyton would easily label those girls ‘desperate’ – lying their way into a disco and trying to flirt their way out the whole night.
Yeah, pretty classy, eh?

After a few minutes had passed, and a few more people had joined in with Apple and the guy, she walked off, letting him stand there. She didn't look back. Either the boy was staring at her, or he was too busy enjoying all the other girls to care about Apple. She didn't mind thought. She was thirsty.
She walked towards the bar, looking from seat to seat for anyone she knew. There were a few boys, none of them looked particuary "fun," though. There were girls too, but Apple swore she knew one of them. She was looking around the club, smoking. She was that blonde senior who Apple's friends had introduced her to before. Was she Eli? No, those silly Manning brothers were getting her mixed up. She was Peytin, wasn't she? Peps, as Apple's friend called her.
Whatever. Peyton wasn't going to do anything for Apple. She sat down, three stools away from the senior and turned to the bartender. Bourbon on the rocks. Please and thank you.
The man looked a little surprised. Maybe it was because Apple didn't look twenty-one at all. Or, maybe it was because it was a pretty strong drink for a little girl. But, it was probably because Apple was wasted yet. She turned as the man prepared her drink, looking out at all the people. There were girls, barely fifteen, the lot of them, grinding up again college guys who looked like they were about to puke. They were all hold a cup with some booze in it. Who wasn't at a club though? Apple turned around and sipped her drink, content with people watching. Someone was bound to talk to her soon enough.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

I see how you like to run Back to the things that got you here lyrics • dare4distance by nevershoutnever! word count • 324 status • done! outfit • here If given another club with a trendier name, Peyton would have long ditched Orchid Lounge. Honestly, she didn’t quite like the new management of the lounge – allowing kids to enter, with their arms open wide. Sure, she knew she was a minor too, but Peyton previously worked for that privilege to enter without an ID. And that was probably the only thing Peyton would work hard for. However, recently, even when she was trashed, Peyton could tell Orchid Lounge was littered by high school students.
Peyton focused her attention back on that Apple girl, without trying too hard to look that she had better things to watch. Well, that girl sure was something to have caught Pates’ attention. Peyton heard the junior ordered a Bourbon and she sniggered. Pates was against girls who hurry for alcohol. Geez, they’ve got a whole night to get trashed – why start early?
Pates turned towards the bartender – Eric was his name – and ordered for a Coke. While doing so, she smirked as Peyton rolled her tongue in her cheek, as though implying that Peyton could play things cool even with just a Coke in a nightclub. Peyton knew Eric spiked her Coke, he always did, but it was usually mild and wouldn’t harm unless she drank a dozen glasses of the (slightly alcoholic) fizzy drink.
With the drink on the counter beside her, Peyton had slightly less space in between her and Apple. Nevertheless, Pates inched closer to the brunette and said simply, “Feeling bold, little lady?” Her eyes were fixed on the dancefloor, and the cigarette was still in between her pink lips, as if to show that Peyton could not be less bothered about Apple, even when she was just starting a conversation.
Yeah, right. Peyton possibly feared competition.
“It’s not always nice to see drunk girls running around, you know,” her voice slightly lower than before, as she blowed cigarette smoke towards the girl’s face.

Feeling bold, little lady? Apple glanced over to see that Peyton girl, a little closer than she remebered. Little lady? From what Apple could remember, Peyton was only, what, a year older than her? And she wasn't that small -- was she? No, no. She was medium sized with a big attitude. Apple was about to ask Peyton if she was 'feeling cautious,' but she noticed the cigerette in her other hand, and thought that she was being bold by smoking insted of drinking. Bold could be the word to describe me.
Said Apple, taking, what, her third sip if her drink? Not too bold. It’s not always nice to see drunk girls running around, you know. Apple breathed in the smoke Peyton blew at her. Cigerette smoke had a weird taste to it. It wasn't the best taste in the world, but the moment you had it you wanted more. No wonder niccotene addictions were so common these days. Insecure fourteen-year-olds giving into peer pressure and getting hooked. But it's never nice to see people begging for lung cancer. Apple said, not sparing her a glance. Apple wasn't a smoker. It just didn't appeal to her. Yes, she had smoked cocaine a few times, but that was it. What got Apple high the most was marijuana, her favorite drug. She liked alcohol and sex. Not many drugs were good enough for Apple, as she saw it. Of course, they were good once in a while. If she needed them, Apple would take drugs. She wasn't one for peer preassure.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

I see how you like to run Back to the things that got you here lyrics • dare4distance by nevershoutnever! word count • 360 status • done! outfit • here Peyton’s head went into a whirlwind; she felt dizzy even though she knew her drink was barely anything alcoholic. Trying her best to focus, it was only then that the DJ played some horrible techno song. True, she lived the disco world, but Pates still despised certain techno tunes without a doubt. It gave her the worst headaches at times, more so when they were blasted by each and every speaker surrounding the room. Oh boy.
Taking a deep whiff of her cigarette, Peyton once again blew it towards Apple. It was partly unintentional, since Peyton could not actually see too well the direction in which she blew the smoke at. The mysterious, grey clouds circled around her and Pates smirked. ‘Bold could be the word to describe me,’ was all Pates needed to hear before she started sniggering. “Well, suit yourself, Apple. But don’t come running to me later when you’re wasted, little girl. You seriously think any guy would let you get away without you getting in his pants? Not tonight, not any night,” Apple snapped, her smirk still evident. Snapping at girls – her hobby, you could say. Peyton never liked the idea of anyone thinking they were superior to her, and she’d show the world if she had to prove her point. Well, the truth was, Peyton hated the idea of seeing girls bragging about sleeping with boys like kids bragged about their trophies. What, was the world turning into Slutville? They’ve lost their class.
Peyton put out her cigarette and her head turned the moment she heard, ‘But it's never nice to see people begging for lung cancer.’ Peyton rolled her eyes and gulped down her Coke. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you, okay?” was all Peyton reminded her, although she knew it had no relevance to Apple’s statement.
Peyton immediately stood on the bar counter and right on cue, the DJ played one of her favourite trance tunes. Peyton swung her arms nicely on the beat and moved her hips. Her hair flew in unison with the song and the attention was well on Peyton, and she knew it. Hell, attention was Peyton’s middle name.

Apple finished her drink and ordered another. Well, actually, she ordered three more. Now that she had had a whole drink, she was getting a little dizzy, and she liked that feeling. She was really used to it now, getting drunk wasn't half the fun it was back when she was, what, fifteen? Was it really only two years ago? It felt like forever, that she had been partying and sleeping around, enjoying herself. Hell, it was ok if she didn't get into a good college or anything. Her parent's were rich. Apple could care less.
Well, suit yourself, Apple. But don’t come running to me later when you’re wasted, little girl. You seriously think any guy would let you get away without you getting in his pants? Not tonight, not any night. Apple sipped her now third drink and turned to Peyton. Well, it seems like you haven't heard of me yet. I like boys, and they like me. Especially in bed. You go to my school, right?
Apple paused to take a sip, then she turned and looked away from the blonde next to her. If you check in my dorm tonight, I won't be there. There will only be Larken, Nathan and...maybe a Julian. Well, not entirely true. Julian, that bastard, he had changed their dorm number to 666666, or something of the sorts. Typical Julian, though, wasn't it? And weren't he and Peyton pretty close? Oh, well. She would have to deal. Appel watched Peyton put out her cigarette. Don’t say I didn’t warn you, okay? Apple raised her eyebrows and gave her a questioning look. I never said I smoked. Apple said, finishing her next drink and ordering two more. She had had four of the pretty strongs drinks by now, and was relatively wasted, but not enough so to do something crazy. Of couse, it seemed like Peyton did after she stood on the bar. Maybe all the niccotene was going to her head, since it looked like she had been drinking Coke this whole time. The bartender must have spiked it or something. Apple glanced at him before looking up at Peyton and smirking. No, she wasn't lesbian. It was just a bit odd to dance on a bar. At least og mingle with people. Pole-dancing was always fun, too. Apple pulled her phone out and took a quick picture. Apple looked around the room to see more than a few boys looking at Peyton, some the same way they looked at Apple. With lust. It was quite an odd sight, and an entertaining one at that, to see someone dancing lik this. Applewas drunk now, after her fifth drink, and she was tempted to get up and dance as well. But Peyton would probably be a bitch and push Apple off, and they would get in a catfight. So, Apple stayed in her seat and waited for Peyton to finish her dance to compliment her.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]
