The Parker family had just gotten out of church, and they were now going back home to have lunch. Except for the eldest Parker child, Garrett. He politely strayed away from his family to have his afternoon meal alone. He loved his family and all, but sometimes four younger brothers and sisters made things pretty hectic in the Parker household. Garrett should have felt at least a little bit guilty, for leaving it all up to his parents to take care of his siblings, while he was fully able to help. But Garrett had helped take care of all of them since their births, so he a felt a little off time was deserved from time to time. His two younger brothers were five and seven, while his sisters were three and ten. He was confused why his parents had wanted so big a family, but to each their own, right?
Garrett stopped in front of a cozy, quaint delicatessen. It was a family run restaurant and had been part of the town for generations. Entering through the double doors, he was greeted by the flustered manager behind the counter, who was taking a break from managerial duties to help prepare food. Garrett liked that about this place. No matter what any of the employees' statuses were, everyone helped out wherever they could. After waiting in line a few minutes, Garrett gave his order of ham on wheat. A simple choice, but delicious all the same. He stood off to the side, and once his order was ready, he took his sandwich and Snapple outside and to one of the outdoor tables the restaurant provided. It was good weather today, and as he tore into his sandwich, he made a mental note to make plans with any of his friends tody.
